Lake Geneva through Designer Eyes: KED Interiors' Summer Outing
In early September, our KED Interiors team embarked on our summer outing to Lake Geneva, a day filled with a fun lakeshore home tour, historical insights, and plenty of team bonding. Our adventure began in downtown Lake Geneva, as we boarded the beautiful Lorelei, a beautiful teakwood cabin cruiser built in the 1950’s. It’s classic elegance and charm was so delightful; this boat was the perfect ride for cruising the lake and exploring the south shore. Our captain and tour guide were full of history and interesting tales of the homes, which our design team loved hearing. We had fun debating which home was our favorite! It was especially interesting to cruise by homes our team had worked on over the years! We love seeing how each home stands the test of time, noting small changes to the exteriors and landscaping over the years.
The highlight of the day was a private tour of the historic Black Point Estate, where we stepped back in time to appreciate the rich history and exquisite architecture of this iconic location.
This outing wasn’t just about relaxation and enjoyment; it was also about inspiration, education and new ideas. There is so much to learn from the history of interior design and architecture. We all enjoyed discovering the nuances of life in the late 1800’s, and how the architecture of homes in Lake Geneva have evolved over time.
Back on the boat, we shared laughs and stories, bonding over our collective passion for design. It was a day of inspiration, camaraderie, and an enhanced appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us, elements we strive to infuse into every project we undertake.
